VR: Virtual Reality

Even though it might sound like an expensive experience, it is somewhat accessible, since we have the "Oculus Quest 2" headset as a "cheap" and great option.

Its an experience that relies on our senses, mainly vision and hearing, but with the right equipment or by developing "Phantom Senses", we can also feel Touch, Smell and Heat, though they aren't real.

Virtual Reality, known by the acronym "VR", is a, usually interactive, 3D environment that simulates a virtual surrounding trying to "mimic" reality.

What is Virtual Reality?

VR can also be good for our phisycal health by encouraging us to actually move and practice exercise while at home.

Another advantage of VR is being able to socialize and make friends that might be miles away from you, without loosing the capability of gesturing or feeling like a part of something.

As I stated before, VR can improve our skills, by being used for educational purposes or playing video-games that may enhance our perception of our surroundings and reflexes, for example.

How can it impact our life?

For a lot of people, VR is where they can be who they want to be, without being judged or questioned, though that is a good thing, it says a lot about the real world, the world we live in, where people can't be themselves.

VRChat, for example, is a Virtual Reality focused Social Media, where people can interact, create frienships and express themselves however they want, though, it is filled with people of dubious character, harrasing people online, thinking it won't have consequences

VR may lead to addiction and, if the user isn't mentally stable, it can lead to other difficulties just like the incapacity of distinguishing the virtual from the real, wich may lead to other problems.

Even though the VR experience may be a very positive path to socializing and exercising, it isn't always a good thing.
