Pilgrims

The Pilgrims were a group of English settlers who traveled to America in 1620. They sailed on a ship called the Mayflower to escape religious persecution in England. After a long and difficult journey, they arrived in what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Pilgrims formed a colony and worked hard to survive in their new land. They are known for celebrating the first Thanksgiving with the Native Americans in 1621.

Thanksgiving celebration

Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday of November. Families often gather together to share a big meal, which usually includes turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. Many people also watch parades and football games on television. It is a time to give thanks for the good things in life, such as family, health, and food. Some people volunteer to help others by giving food or supporting charity events during this time.

Thanksgiving dinner

Thanksgiving dinner includes a variety of traditional dishes, and different families might have their own special recipes. In addition to turkey, people often serve side dishes like green beans, corn, sweet potatoes, and dinner rolls. Some families enjoy making casseroles, such as green bean casserole or sweet potato casserole, to go along with the meal. For dessert, pumpkin pie is the most popular, but apple pie, pecan pie, and other treats are also common. The meal is a chance to enjoy homemade comfort food and celebrate with loved ones.
