Poke#6: Tat Map

Imagine this design but rotated 180 degrees so that it becomes an armband tattoo that circles almost entirely around the arm. This is a minimalist, fine-line tattoo that represents guidance and direction. The starburst, or compass-like center symbolizes staying true to your path and following your intuition. It also symbolizes celestial connection and spirituality. It reflects balance and spiritual alignment.

Starburst: Armband

My great grandfather passed away when I was fairly young but I still have fond memories of the time we spent together. Throughout his life he was a jewelry maker and a craftsman and often used to create art with monarch butterflies. Since his passing, whenever my family and I see butterflies somewhere it is a symbol that he is looking over us. This fine-line butterfly tattoo will be a matching tattoo that my grandmother (his daughter) and I are going to get.

This design is light and emphasizes simplicity. Stars are connected to aspirations and the pursuit of dreams. This tattoo represents a reminder that anything is achievable and to continue to set goals and go after what is wanted througout life.

Minimalist Starbursts: Collarbone

Throughout my childhood and still during family gatherings with my father's family, we always play some sort of game. One of the games that we frequently used to play was Rockband, specifically The Beatles version. When I was too little to play they would often let me be on the microphone, but the only song that I knew well enough to read and sing was "Lucy in the Sky With DIanmonds." This tattoo is based on the lyrics "A girl with kaleidoscope eyes, Cellophane flowers of yellow and green" and represents my childhood memories with my family. The tattoo specifically will be a fine-line watercolor tattoo. The rib placement keeps it close to the heart.
