FOOTBALL Présentation
Christopher Adam JV26B
Football was invented by a small group of young boys in the late nineteenth century. The first modern form of football appeared in England, where written rules and organized clubs were established. The original rules of modern football are attributed to three men: Ebenezer Cobb Morley, John Charles Thring and William McGregor. Morley is considered the founding father of modern football as he was the first to create a formal code of rules for the sport in 1863. In 1866, he founded the Football Association (FA), which was then the governing body of football in England.
The rules of football in a nutshell Football is played with two teams of 11 players each, and the goal of the game is to score points by passing the ball into the opponent's goal. Matches usually last 90 minutes, divided into two halves of 45 minutes each, with a 15-minute break in between. The football field is rectangular, with goals at each end. Players must use their feet, legs and body to control and pass the ball, but they are not allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms (with the exception of the goalkeeper in certain circumstances).
