Stats
Did the findings prove both statistically and practically significant? Why or why not?
Online Book Clubs
Findings
"Overall, the online book clubs proved to be a fun, engaging, and convenient activity for preteen and teens. Parents and librarians also found these clubs to be motivating and flexible."
Statistical Significance
While I do feel online book clubs is a relevant topic and worthy of research, I did not personally see statistical practicality in this particular article. I felt there were few stats and the ones that were provided were more general and not presented in a way that allows the reader to quickly visualize the findings. There were several instances I was excited to see graphs or images added only to be disappointed it was just examples from book clubs. I would assume there is a better way to collect, record, and share data to allow for more support for the topic at hand.
I believe graphs, diagrams, and other pictoral representations of data add a great amount to research and I believe the addition of pictoral evidence and statistics would be beneficial.

What I would have loved to see...
Practicality
"Potential for online book clubs and public libraries" I actially found this section following the conclusion to really help the reader see the true impact and practicality of online book clubs. This portion of the research listed several key reasons online book clubs can and should be offered to impact preteens and teens today. This information or at least more detailed information at the beginning of the research would allow the reader to see the significance and practicality of the research from the very beginning rather than waiting until the very end.
The information and topic of this research is very practical and appropriate for the day and age we live in. I did however feel the information and data provided in the findings as well as throughout the document were lacking and sporadic. We see the interviews with students, parents, and teachers as well as bits of data throughout so where is the big picture of the data and the charts to display it? How do all the different stats shared strengthen the purpose: "The purpose of this paper is to highlight and examine public-library-based, online book clubs for preteens and teens."? We know in person and online book clubs were discussed, could they be compared in a side-by-side chart or graphic? We know students are heavily influenced and drawn to technology so let's prove there is truly a lasting impact of online bookclubs on preteens and teens today by clearly displaying data to allow the reader to quickly view, analyze, and assess with the use of visuals.
