Final report

An inspirating network !

Green jobs are linked with the 17 sustainable objectives of the UNO. We tried to make a list of them, but it's obviously not complete : It's a dynamic world ! Here are the associations and companies which participated to the project for visits, presentations or internships : It's important to well list in a document their names, adress, websites, mentor's emails and phones, logos, students who went there for internships and links to the sustainable development, for further needs. Ex, in Greece :

During hosting

CAPTURE EVERYTHING WITH VIDEOS AND PICTURES !! Share everything on your social medias all along the week, and prepare a final video to show it during the farewell party. You can create a whatsapp group with all the students and accompanying persons for the week, in order to answer to questions, easily give informations and share pictures and videos. Take advantage to have foreign students and teachers at school to organise meeting moments : ask them to go into classes to present the project and discuss with students, future participants ! Share the joy to be together : organise dissemination events. Use enough time for internship reports' writting. When the students come back to their country, it's more difficult to continue that work with them on shared documents. If they can finish the report and a Genially page about the company, it's perfect ! Ask them to share it immediatly to the coordinator (Genially : virginie.pandeles@ac-bordeaux.fr / email for reports and any other production : sos_svt@hotmail.fr). Don't forget evaluations from participants, families, companies.

Facebook page

At the beginning, we decided to hage a group page only for us to share informations between partners, but the problem is that we needed a public page too. So we posted informations on the page during all the project, and at the end, we created a public page only to post public informations about events and project steps. We had a reflexion about who could be editors, and how our own accounts could influence the Facebook page, so we conclude that each school should have a school account to use Erasmus+ pages like this one. But it's not compulsory, it's an idea we had. Our Facebook page : Other plaforms are also useful to be known by young people : Instagram, TikTok. But we hadn't the competences to do it. If you have them, use these social medias.

Language level : EU Academy

This platform is available for everybody, and the students can measure their level in English or in another european language, and have lessons. You have to make tests at the beginning and the end of the project, to have an idea about their improvement. Because you cannot have access to their results, well ask them to send you a copy of them, when they receive them. You can also ask the foreign language teachers of your school to write something about the students' progress (if they more dare to speak, if they improved their school marks ...). It's more global. Keep these informations in a document for further needs.

Second year preparation

All along the year, meet the partners and your school staff to decide the calendar and activities you'll do on the second year. The more students and countries you imply, the more work you'll have to do. Anticipate the more you can : discussions about mobilities' dates are complicated, and also the administrative tasks, travel bookings. Don't hesitate to make appointments with the partners to leave them check and propose buses, accomodations, let them decide and book the activities in their country, and send you invoices if needed. For the hosting in your country, don't hesistate to ask the students, school staff and families to help : they always have good ideas about cultural, funny and atipycal activities. They also can have access to companies' visits or events or prices you wouldn't have. Imply all the school in the hosting. Prepare a great exhibition about the invited countries, an event for all the school when they arrive. Organise a meal to help all the school staff to meet the guest accompanying persons and talk about the project and their school system, practices. It's always inspiring, and can be the beginning for new Erasmus+ projects. Ask the students implied to go in all the classrooms with their european mates for a short interview with all the students, from the littlests to the olders. If you want to continue the project, at the end of the year it will already be time to select students for a new promotion. Be prepared ! It means that you'll have to manage 1st and 2nd year students activities at the same time. It's better to separate the 2 groups because they'll have very different tasks to do. It implies more project holders, more teachers, more hours dedicated to activities with the project's group. It's important to well negociate with your headmaster.

During mobilities

TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF EVERY ACTIVITY. Communicate on social networks and on the parents Whatsapp. Don't hesistate to challenge the students : ask them to report to the group one word by day, give them a picture challenge (and give them points during all the week, ended by a prize reward / ask your local colleagues to give you ideas of typical things they can try to photograph) or songs to learn ... Always be attentive to your student's behaviour : they have to be respectful and polite, they have to well represent their country, to be curious, enjoyable and to participate to all the possible activities. Evaluate their progress, how they open their mind, communicate in foreign languages, adapt to situations. Encourage them to express their difficulties and good moments, to share them to the hosting coordinator and fix problems. Take advantage of the internship sessions to go to the hosting school and attend classes. It's a good way to discover new practices and get inspired. It would be useful to report your job-shadowing to your colleagues.

Europass

Europass is a great european tool which is usefull all life long. With their free profile, students and adults are linked to entire Europe to find courses, internships and jobs, and easily write CV and motivation letters.

Even if they are young, Europass highlights all their competences and experiences, even participation to clubs, sports victories, art school diplomas, volunteering etc ... They can think about them, their skills, their experiences. We always see their self-confidence raise after a big brainstorming when they create their profile. During the project, the students add their internships to their profile and their competences improving, and after the project, they can continue and add diplomas, summer jobs, leisure activities ... If the project succed in increasing their willing to go abroad to study or work, it's a powerful tool to help them.

Share !

Our KA2 project was just a start. We want to create a network and evolutive platforms, richer and richer !! So this kit and the Genially website wait for your contributions ! Create your own Genially pages and share them to virginie.pandeles@ac-bordeaux.fr Write questions, ideas, advices, send productions (questionnaires, exhibitions or activities ready-to-print) to sos_svt@hotmail.fr Virginie Pandeles will receive and use them, because she stays Green Jobs coordinator, strongly linked to the project and all the participants. You can ask her French version of the documents we created.

Be prepared to host ...

For your hosting week, don't forget to prepare :

  • contracts (here in French) and information letters for the companies,
  • booking for every activity and transport (keep time to prepare the report and Genially page at school, and for evaluation),
  • invitations,
  • program (you can prepare mini-programs and name of the participants and their country, to keep around their neck or attached to their clothes),
  • attendance certificate,
  • internship reports,
  • participation certificate (for students, families, companies)
  • presents for your guests (with project's logo and website QR code, if you can)
  • events (hosting and farewell party, dissemination event for the school, open event, meal between adults, meeting at the city hall or other institution ...),
  • check availability of all the staff and places you'll need. If you can, it's better if the project's coordinators don't have classes to attend during all the week to remain free to manage the project.

Students and adults selection

The way to choose students and adults participating to the project was different for each country, according to their habits. But the aim was to involve a maximum of students with less opportunities, to encourage them to participate to an Erasmus project needing less autonomy, language skills and with no care about school results. Even if the management team was composed of people with a strong experience, it was important to allow newcomers in Erasmus projects to accompany students abroad, to motivate them to continue Erasmus+ projects. A selection was necessary in some countries. So, before selection, we had to commmunicate a lot to families, students and school's staff to well inform everybody about the opportunities given by this project. And during selection, different tasks were asked : a motivation letter / video / interview / online questionnaire ...

Communication with families, students, school staff

It's very important to well communicate about the project at all stages. Students need platforms like eTwinning or padlet to have a look on the others' productions. It help them to stay motivated and see that they are not working alone. They eager to see what the others do. Make speed datings to force them to directly speak to each other and choose their mate. Families need meetings to be prepared to host and send their children abroad, so make online meeting with the others teachers and families, to help them to communicate together if needed, and stay near if they have questions. All the school's staff need meetings to explain the project and what it implies in their school year (calendar, students implied who won't be in class and won't have time to study the lessons they'll miss, accompanying persons who will be abroad for a week, so schedule changes to compensate, administrative tasks to prepare mobilities, participation to dissemination events ...). Present the project whenever you can (see dissemination events ideas) and put informations regularly on social networks, school's and institutions newsletter and website.

Results

The 1st result is the change in students, staff and families who have experienced the project or its dissemination (enthusiasm for Europe and for entrepreneurship, for professions and life experiences). There were more classroom interventions and company visits. Many of the participants, students and adults alike, have gained in autonomy, responsibility, adaptability, language skills, IT skills, project management skills and motivation as a result of discovering completely new fields and initiatives. Project leaders really came away with the feeling of having given even more meaning to their work. The 2nd result is the overall productions, of which we are particularly proud. Pupils were much more involved, students and teachers produced a much richer output. The 3rd result is the demonstration that this project can continue after the end of the KA2 subsidy. The 4th result is the recognition of prior learning and experience, which we have succeeded in generalizing during this project: more indications in school reports, Europass mobility and Europass profiles for everyone, as well as certificates of participation for young people, adults, companies and families, which give a warm souvenir and leave a trace with the website QR code.

Be prepared to go abroad

  • Well collect official informations and documents about the students and transport tickets copies. In France, we created a website to allow parents to upload informations and documents, and to have them digitally, all the time.
  • Edit Mobility Europasses for all the participants.
  • Well explain to the accompanying persons what they have to do : participate to the activities, manage their students and help managing the others if needed, help the students to write their reports and create their Genially pages. Also well explain how to manage their budget and report it.
  • Depending on your country, don't forget any declaration you may have to do, not only on Beneficiary module, to let your government, institutions and insurance know who is abroad, when and where.
  • Always have a backup accompanying person in case of last minute cancellation.
  • Give a list of things you are allowed and not allowed to have in the luggage. Remind participants that they are there to study green jobs, so they have to take a pen and a notebook, and a present for the hosting family.
  • Check how you can pay in the foreign country and change money before or there, with the students (an adult has to be there).
  • Organise an online meeting with all the families (of your country and the hosting one) to describe the program, answer to questions and let them discuss together, with your help, if needed. Create a Whatsapp group with them to send pictures and informations during the mobility..

Our great team

We are teachers from 7 countries and 8 european schools, and we want to build a great network of partner schools participating to activities described in this kit thanks to KA1 group mobilities asked by each of them. Our schools run lots of Erasmus+ projects at the same time, so we have big Erasmus+ teams and strong experience, what was necessary to give birth to this one. NOW IT'S READY, JOIN US !

Year 2's overview

This is a very intensive year, especially if you have many partners' schools. Be prepared ! More than 1st year, working with the students one hour per week is very usefull, if you can. As for Year 1, you can give a TO DO list to the students in order them to work at their rythm, but not to forget tasks. It's an important year to evaluate and highlight their experiences and competences' improvements, as well as those of adults implied in the project, and to thank families and companies. Prepare a big final event to share the joy experienced during 2 years of intensive and rich project's activities, and take all the good advices and suggestions to continue next year !

Some tips for the internships

  • Always have backup companies in case of a last minute cancellation.
  • If a company is too afraid to receive foreign students, you can propose to put an accompanying person with the students in the company.
  • Give a paper version of the report to each student's pair to take notes. They may not be allowed to use their phones or laptops during the internship.
  • Give to the students the company's participation certificate to give to the mentor during the last day of the internship.
  • Invite the mentors and institutions' representatives, medias, to the farewell party, way before the hosting.

An example of application

We give you here access to our application and its evaluation, to give you ideas to write your own one. This was a KA220 project, but we want now to use our experience to use KA120 grants to continue exchanges and concrete guidance activities about green jobs. Each school choose one, two or three partners in the network and ask for its own group mobilities' grants.

Project's objectives

We wanted our project to : _ raise awareness of sustainable solutions on an international scale among tomorrow's European eco-citizens, starting at secondary school level, through partnerships that enable concrete guidance activities (including internships and the use of Europass). The project aims to improve recruitment in green companies by showcasing the diversity of jobs and encouraging young people to create their own companies by following real, local and positive examples, _ develop the skills needed in a complex, multicultural world, which needs to become more cooperative thanks to greater knowledge and respect for all, _ be aimed at all 13-16 year olds, especially those with fewer opportunities, without any selection based on results, but rather on their motivation and willingness to share their experience by contributing to a physical and online dissemination. Our objective no. 1 is to prepare them to work on a European scale, thanks to a better knowledge of themselves and the world of work, their openness to others, mobility and Europass. The productions will also facilitate the continuation of the project and its adoption by other schools.

1st year evaluations

During one year of activities, you'll observe lot of changes and evolutions. You may have marks for oral presentations and other productions, and can use again the diagnosis evaluations to measure students' evolution. Here is a list of competences of the French school system you can highlight in French students school bulletins : Do the most you can to notice an Erasmus+ participation and the improvements it caused on students, in their school reports.

Digital skills

Europass allows to when you fill in your profile.

Depending on your country, your students can have access to platforms to improve their level and have a certificate. For example, in France : As for language, we recomend to evaluate their level at the beginning and the end of the project. Ask the students to send you a copy of the results they receive when they do the test.

Language kits

To help other students discovering basis of their mate's language, it's useful to create language kits. Each country can choose it's way to do it. France and Spain : Genially pages Romania : Videos

Feedback and improvements

Take advantage of every occasion to collect oral feedback of participants and other school's members : - farewell party, - dissemination events, - informal discussions. Take notes of suggestions, positive and negative points, for further use. Take time to give a feedback : - to the students when you have the mentor's questionnaires, to help them think about their positive and negative points, - to the Erasmus team when you have the students, families, teachers and companies' questionnaires and informal feedbacks, to improve the future projects

Final report

If your project is a KA2, you have to fill in Beneficiary Module to report the mobilities and all the aspects of the project. Well ask to all the partners their informations (see list of productions asked by the coordinator, in the ''Our productions'' page). Here is our final report, to give you ideas (French) : And when we'll have it, we will share our final report's evaluation by the Erasmus Agency. If you project is a KA1, you'll have a descriptive part for the final report to do, as all the other Erasmus projects of your school.

Implementation

This is a hybrid eTwinning/pupil mobility project in two stages. During the 1st year, students carried out : _ linguistic preparation in English, _ cultural activities, posted online via eTwinning and then, Genially, _ getting to grips with the Europass tool, _ discovering all their school's partner companies, with tutors visiting the school to present their job, their career path, their company, At the end of this first year, the students formed international pairs, by affinity. In 2nd year, the students took part in the mobility program which enabled each of them to complete 2 internships, in their own country and in the pair's country. Over the two years of the project, the students helped to disseminate information within the schools and beyond, as opportunities arose, by taking part in or organizing events, press releases and newsletters, testimonials, relayed along with the project's productions on the schools' and institutions' websites, Twinspace and the project website. As for the project leaders, they : _ worked together to organize all the activities, _ exchanged a wealth of knowledge and skills, _ fed the Facebook page, Youtube channel, website and project kit, _ presented the project in all occasion.

Project evaluations

You can choose a paper form, or online ones (lots of possibilities). Here are examples to inspire you : Paper questionnaire for families, students, companies, teachers Microsoft form for the companies (french) Google form for the students Google form for the families Google form for teachers Google form for students at the end of the project

Take your time to have time !

This project need lots of hours with the students and the project's team to manage it. Very regular meetings with all the teams (school managers, budget team, dissemination team, students activities team ...) are compulsory for a successfull project. Communication is a key, as well with all your partners (companies, families, other european schools, Erasmus+ agency). You'll need time with the students, not only during mobilities ! Try to have one hour per week with them in the school schedule all year long. You and them also have to notice that there will be online meetings during other times (in the evening, when families are implied). Ensure that they'll be present and serious, because students will have lots of tasks to do. Give them a TO DO list at the begining, that they have to take every time you meet, and point when a task is done. It can be an online TO DO list. Use the tools the students are used to, in your school. eTwinning allows to have shared documents and walls, if needed, for that. If it's possible, when you host employees for a presentation, invite other students who could be interested by professional inspiration. Imply the guidance staff in the project and melt usual guidance activities with the project ones (Europass' profile creation, companies visits and presentations, job descriptions ...). The aim of the project is to enlarge public and to improve your school's guidance activities.

Ice breaking activities

According to their age and willing, students prepared drawings or videos to help the others to better know them, and language kits. Then, they made researches about the other countries, and submitted them to each country, thanks to eTwinning or padlet. It was a good start to raise their motivation to really meet the others and visit their country. We also made a Logo challenge to create and choose the project's logo.

Project summary

From one to a best one

Following on from the 2017-1-SE01-KA219-034609_3 project, we took the time to build an ambitious sequel to it, deepening inclusion and guidance work, and adding an insufficiently addressed area : green jobs. Given their impact, we wanted internships abroad to be sustainable activities for our schools (thanks to accreditations). This resulted in a KA2 project involving 7 countries, enabling the launch of activities to be pursued thereafter, focusing mainly on 2 issues: - ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE, which requires action by companies, individuals and schools to move towards a dynamic future, with skills and solutions adapted to the problems encountered on a planetary scale, with a positive spirit, - INCLUSION AND EMPLOYABILITY of young people, with high unemployment rates in Europe, despite the opportunities available, to which we respond by adapting the selection, activities and supervision to make the project more accessible. These concrete guidance activities emphasize the often rich backgrounds of the employees we met, to inspire and motivate young people.

Dissemination

As Year 1, all the possible events have to be organised to advertise about the project to the larger public. Ex : An event in Romania where 2 participants won a prize : Because it's the end of a promotion's project, organise a great final event to share all the great experiences the group lived. Take advantage of such an event to collect ideas and remarks of all the participants, families, mentors, school staff. Don't forget also all the opportunities you can : participate to contests, institutional events where projects are highlighted ... Keep everything for the final report and further needs !

Take pictures and videos of every activity in order to have things to show !

Dissemination

Take advantage of all medias and events to talk about the project (speakers can be project's holders, but also students, accompaning persons, families). Ex : articles in the school newsletter (page 6) Some events and special weeks have to be taken in account in a year : Erasmus Days, Europe Day, Language week, partners National days, back to school meetings, school's ending show and meetings, open doors days, institutional parties, hosting and farewell parties at the beginning and end of the mobilities. Always invite city hall and institutions members, local medias, colleagues from other schools ... to your events. Enlarge your public. When you have a meeting with families, students and potential accompanying persons to present the project and selection, don't hesitate to ask former families and participants to speak and answer to questions. Have a look at all the platforms which allow to advertise about your project : in your city, county, institutions, social medias, Erasmus+ platforms, and USE THEM. Use the management budget to produce goodies (stickers, pens, posters ...). Put a QRcode leading to the website or your social networks on them, to have new followers.

Mobility kit

Thanks to our school Erasmus website, we could generate students mobility contracts automatically. We let access to all the partners to our website to allow families to fill in informations and drop personal documents, and create contracts for them.If you are interested, you can contact the coordinator For the Mobility Europasses, we decided what to write, together :

Report competences level

You observed the students' behaviour, changes at different levels (hability to speak, to adapt, to work in group etc ...). Use all the means to highlight their improvements (marks, competences levels) in their school reports. Well note the Erasmus+ project participation, and add a Europass mobility copy in students' folders. Give a feedback to the students : take time to have a final interview with them to list all these evaluations and help them to be aware of their progresses.

Our Youtube channel

In our application, we decided to have a Youtube channel. It's very easy to create and manage, and gives you a big access to large public. In this channel, we put mobilities videos, language tutorials, students presentations and testimonies. During the first transnational meeting, we decided to have a final production, and here is its plan :

Keep in mind what you applied for !

Second year is the end of a promotion's project. Don't forget all your objectives, well list the ideas to improve the project for the next years (be very attentive during any discussion about the project with partners, families, students, school staff and project team), and your final report ! Read and read again your application form and respect what you said : Gantt, objectives, results, impacts. Regularly fill in Beneficiary Module, school's budget report, social medias and other tasks you decided to put in place in the application form. DON'T FORGET THAT INTERNSHIPS ARE THE MORE IMPORTANT LEARNING ACTIVITIES : leave time for that in the program, minimum 2 entire days in the week. Secure all the productions, videos, pictures, official documents, physically and online, to keep versions of all what the participants made.

Next years preparation

You are now part of a schools network. For your 2nd promotion, do you want to continue with the same partners, or to change ? Don't forget that you have to ask for grants in February, so you have to anticipate to well prepare the next year ! You can imply the students in that choice, because you have them the year before to start mobilities, and you can take the time to discover all the other countries and think about their wishes. Don't forget that the project is not only about internships, but also about improving your school guidance activities. To prepare next year also means to check with all the school staff how to use project's tools and productions, contacts and activities for all the school's students.

Companies presentation

Depending on the country, different activities were put in place : - or families, or school, or both had to find the companies / associations hosting internships, presentation or visits, - or a company employee came to school to present his job and experience, or the entire class went there, or only the student mentored by the company. In each case, a report was to write to allow all the project's students to discover the companies and choose the one were they want to do their internship.

Some advices

There are important points that you have to check before to begin : - be sure to have a motivated team inside your school, to work on the project , because there is a lot of work to do, and it's important to share it. Example : - be sure that your partner schools are well motivated and able to implement the project as well, - be sure that all the school members understand the project : administrative and teaching staff will be impacted because there are lots of teachers and students who will go on mobilities and won't be available when the other schools will come, so the schedules will have to be changed. Some classes will miss students and they won't have time to study during the project weeks. You you will also need working hours with the students all along the project, - be sure to have a companies' network : it's the more difficult part. Even if in your country there is a tradition to host students, it's not easy to make them accept to host foreign students. Use all the possible contacts (colleagues, families, internet researches, city hall) to help you. - always keep in mind what you announced in your application, to be coherent during the implementation, and always well communicate inside and outside the school. Create a document or notebook to write everything done/decided during the project, with Gantt diagram and check lists.

Diagnostic evaluations and Europass profile creation

We used EUAcademy for English placement tests. The students can use the platform to improve their level, after that. We also used a Google Forms questionnaire to ask to the students how they see their orientation and skills (click on the picture to see our questionnaire). Then, we asked them to create a Europass profile thanks to their answers to the questionnaire, and thinking about their professional and other experiences.

After mobilities and hosting

It's not the year's end ! You and the students will have to manage :

  • A report about the hosting (and about the mobility, depending on your country rules),
  • The end of the TO DO List, priority to internship reports on Genially pages,
  • Testimonies : make videos, oral presentations, dissemination events,
  • Imply the students and their productions / partner companies in your school's guidance activities : interviews, testimonies, activities on the project's website, group visits, job forum ...
  • Evaluate and highlight your students experiences and competences improvements in their school's report, remember them to add their mobility Europass and experience in their Europass profile,
  • Fill in the platforms with all the productions : school's website, Youtube channel, project Genially (share with virginie.pandeles@ac-bordeaux.fr), social medias, Erasmus+ results platform, institutional websites ...
  • Fill in Beneficiary Module and final report. Well prepare all the projects documents in case of control and for further needs.
  • It's time to communicate and select students for a 3rd promotion !
