After the Second World War, states understood the need to build places where they could meet and engage in constructive dialogue, not only to resolve any disputes but also to jointly address the challenges of the post-war period and lay the foundations for a more peaceful, safe and prosperous world for all the peoples of the Earth.

Since the end of that devastating conflict, many international organizations have emerged with the aim of achieving the most diverse goals: social,economic, political. Many of those organizations are still operating today and, in some cases, have undergone or will undergo profound transformations, having to adapt to circumstances, contexts and objectives that have changed compared to the original ones. Let us examine below some global organizations of which Italy is also a part.

International organizations of an economic nature are institutions that promote cooperation between states to regulate and develop international economic relations.
Among the global organizations, we can mention:

The World Trade Organization
World Trade Organization (WTO): Established in 1995 to promote international trade, replacing the GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade), which had been used to facilitate international exchanges. Currently, 164 countries are members. Its objective is theprogressive liberalization of global trade, achieved through agreements between member countries aimed at combating protectionism, introducing trade rules, and establishing systems to resolve disputes related to trade.
Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD): Founded with the Paris Treaty of 1960 to replace the OEEC (Organisation for European Economic Co-operation), which had been established by non-communist European countries to coordinate post-war reconstruction efforts and ensure the convertibility of currencies of countries benefiting from the Marshall Plan. Today, the OECD conducts advisory, research, and study activities related to the expansion of international trade and economic development in member countries.
International Monetary Fund
International Monetary Fund (IMF): Founded in 1944, its purpose is to promote international financial stability,provide technical assistance and loans to countries facing economic difficulties, and facilitate global monetary cooperation.
International Bank for Reconstruction and Development
International Dance Association
World Bank: Established in 1944, its mission is to reduce global poverty by funding development projects in low- and middle-income countries. It includes the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).
GROUP 20
G20: A forum that brings together the world's major economies, both developed and emerging, to discuss and coordinate global economic policies, including topics related to trade, finance, and development.
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC): Founded in 1960, OPEC is an international cartel that brings together major oil-producing countries, with the goal of regulating oil production and prices on a global scale.
These organizations have different but complementary objectives, aiming to stabilize, regulate, and stimulate the global economy through international cooperation.
ONU (united nations organization).
The ONU is an international organization founded in 1945 whose mission is to maintain international peace and security; develop friendly relations between Nations; promote better living conditions, social progress and the protection of human rights.
OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe)
OSCE is the largest intergovernmental regional security organization for the promotion of peace, political dialogue, justice and cooperation in Europe which currently has fifty-seven member countries

International military organizations are a group of states who help and defend each other to maintain the peace in the world using military and politic methods.
The most important ones are Nato,Otsc and Sco
Nato (North atlantic treaty organization)

Nato was born in 1949, after the 2nd war and under the influence of the united states, to guarantee the peace in Europe and mainly to contrast the power of the URSS.

But after the fall of the URSS, some of the states that formed it made agreements with Nato (like the treaty of Roma, where nato and russia collaborated to eliminate the terrorism and illegal weapon traffic)
2000s
When Putin became president, he first wanted to join nato, but nato refuse to make deals with Russia and later,after a period of tension between them two, when Obama became president, every agreement with Russia broke.
Sco (shangai cooperation organization)
Sco is an organization between Asian states (Cina, Russia, Tagikistan e Uzbekistan) with the aim to eliminate inner conflics, terrorism and separatist menace.
Otsc (collective security treaty organization
Otsc is an organisation that unite the ex-URSS states and Csi states (kazakistan, Kirghizistan, Armenia, Belarus, exc..) to help each other and consider a foreign attack to a single Otsc member against all other otsc members
