rom coms centre around a love story between 2 people they usually show us how a couple meet overcome obstacles but most of the time end up back together

INTRODUCTION

PURPOSE

the purpose of romcom movies is to show us how true love is supposed to look like and that it can overcome anything.

FIRST FEW ROMCOMS

Girl Shy (1924) and Sherlock Jr. were among the first romcoms to end the "rush to the altar." Both were silent films, so comedy could not be captured. Also, we can't forget William Shakespeare and his formula with Midsummer Night's Dream.
