One of the most prominent aspects of the Renaissance was humanism, a movement that emphasized the value and agency of the human being. Humanists promoted the study of the humanities, including grammar, rhetoric, history, poetry, and philosophy. Figures such as Petrarch and Erasmus of Rotterdam were fundamental in the dissemination of these ideas. In the artistic field, the Renaissance gave rise to masterpieces by painters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael. These artists explored perspective, anatomy, and the use of color, creating works that captured the beauty and complexity of the human figure and nature. Architecture also flourished, with the construction of impressive cathedrals and palaces, highlighting the use of columns, arches and domes. The invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg in the 15th century revolutionized the dissemination of knowledge, allowing books to be mass produced. and will be distributed more widely. This facilitated access to education and the exchange of ideas. The Renaissance was also a period of exploration and discovery, with figures such as Christopher Columbus and Vasco da Gama expanding Europe's geographical horizons. In short, the Renaissance was a time of transformation that laid the foundation for the development of modern science, literature and art, profoundly influencing Western culture.
