Where are our parks?

OHV Mission

To provide leadership statewide in the area of off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation; to acquire, develop, and operate state-owned vehicular recreation areas; and to otherwise provide for a statewide system of managed OHV recreational opportunities through funding to other public agencies. The OHMVR Division works to ensure quality recreational opportunities remain available for future generations by providing for education, conservation, and enforcement efforts that balance OHV recreation impacts with programs that conserve and protect cultural and natural resources.

Highway Vehicle

Regular highway vehicles, like cars and trucks, are designed to travel on paved roads. They have smoother tires, making them great for driving on highways, streets, and parking lots.

Off Highway Vehicle

Off-highway vehicles, like dirt bikes and ATVs, are built to handle rough, bumpy terrain. They have thick, rugged tires with deep treads to grip surfaces like mud, sand, and gravel. OHVs often have strong suspensions to absorb shocks.

Off Highway Vehicles

OHVs are NOT allowed to drive on public roads, and are limited to use on specially designated roads, trails, and sites.

Highway Vehicles

Highway vehicles are legally allowed to drive on public roads, including highways and city streets.
