L'industria è caratterizzata dal settore tessile,del legno è dà cantieri navali. malta ha rapporti commerciali con l'italia,regno unito e la bibia , da questi paesi importa petrolio,vestisi e bestiame.

le chiese di malta hanno 2 orologi ma solo uno segna l'ora esatta, l'altro indica un orario sbaiato e ha la funzione di confondere gli spiriti maligni per tenerli lontanie impedire di disturbare le celebrazioni religiose
nella cattedrale di san Giovanni situata a valletta si trovano due opere del grande caravaggio, la più importate e "decollazione di san Giovanni Battista lunica opera autografata da caravaggio
sicilia e malta secondo alcuni esperti migliaia di anni fa erano unite .
il suo nome "malta" deriva dal greco Melitè significa "dolce" venne chiamata cosi perchè c'era una grande concentrazione di api che producevano miele in abbondanza .
