Cell Walls are walls around a cell that provide structure. It can be compared to the skin of a basketball, because it's harder than the ballon type shell of a cell membrane. They're only found in eukaryotic plant cells.
The Cytoplasm is a fluid that provides structure and allows transport, like a water balloon. Both prokaryotic and eukaryotic have Cytoplasms.
Lysosomes break down unnecessary materials, such as extra nutrients inside the cell. They're like worms, which break down organisms. Lysosomes are found in eukaryotic cells, those of plants and animals
The Nucleolus job is to produce and put together ribosomes for the cell, sort of like a factory. They are found in eukaryotic cells, inculeding plants, animals, and fungi.
The Mitochondria is responsible for generating the cell's energy, like a generater. It's refered to as "the powerhouse of the cell". Mitochondria is found in both plants and animals, or eukaryotic organisms.
The Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum creates lipids, one of the four major biomolecules. It can be compared to a pipeline because of its twists and turns. Smooth ER's are found in eukaryotic cells, like plants and animals.
The Cell Membrane keeps the cells shape and controls what enters and exits the cell, somewhat like a wall with a drawbridge. Cell Membranes are found in all cells; eukaryotic, prokaryotic, plants, animals, and bacteria.
Chloroplasts produce food for the cell during photosynthesis. Chloroplasts are only found in eukaryotic plant cells. It can be compared to a generator like the mitochondria, but I prefer to compare it to a food factory.
The Cytoskeleton helps to suport and keep the shape of the cell, just like a real skeleton. Cytoskeletons are found in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
Ribosomes are responsible for creating protiens, like a factory. Both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, such as plants animals and bacteria, contain Ribosomes.
Vacuoles store food for the cell, like a refrigerator. Vacuoles are found in eukaryotic cells, like plants and animals. It's one of, if not the biggest organelle in most plant cells.
The Golgi Apparatus is responsible for transporting, sorting and modiffying lipids and protiens, like a packing a shipping room in a factory. They are found in the eukaryotic cells of plants and animals.
The Nucleus stores DNA and is the cell's control center, basically the brain of the cell. Nucleus' are found in all eukaryotic cells, which includes plants and animals.
The Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum processing protiens from Ribosomes. They're the quality control at the Ribosome's factory. Rough ER's are found in the eukaryotic cells of both plants and animals
