Saudi Arabia maintains the wall for proctecting the national security by preventing the entry of armed fighters linked to extremist groups, including al-Qaeda and Daesh affiliates.
ABOUT THIS WALL:
WHEN:
the constructions of this wall started in the early 2000s and has continued to be reinforced over time. Especially following increased instability in the region and the intensification of the civil conflict in yemen since 2015
it is long 1.800 km and is actually really short (2/3 m) where the areas do not need much protection. but it is taller (around 5 m) in areas in need of protection.

The structure itself can vary desing dependeting on the terrain and the specific part of the border, but typically includes physical barriers like fences, walls and survelliance system, along with guard posts and patrol routes.

The yemeni-saudi border is one of the more sensitive regions due to both geographical factors and geopolitical tension, this wall is one of several security measures taken by Saudi Arabia in response.
