Galliard

The galliard is a fast-paced and joyful Renaissance dance, originally from Europe. It is characterized by vigorous movements, jumps and turns, usually performed by couples. It is also associated with a musical form in 3/4 or 6/8 time signature, which accompanies the dance at courts and festivities.

The galliard is a Renaissance dance of European origin, characterized by its fast rhythm and agile jumps. It was danced in pairs and performed in three steps, often accompanied by instrumental music. It was one of the most popular dances in the Renaissance courts.

PAVANA

L La pavana es una danza de origen renacentista, lenta y solemne, generalmente interpretada en compás de 4/4. Era popular en cortes reales y se caracterizaba por su elegancia y estructura formal. SALTARELLO

The saltarello is a dance of Italian origin, fast and lively, typical of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. It is characterized by its 6/8 or 12/8 rhythm and lively movements, with jumps and turns. It was popular at festivities and celebrations, and was used by composers such as Giovanni Gabrieli.

PASSAMEZZO

The passamezzo is an Italian dance of the Renaissance, of moderate rhythm and 4/4 time signature. Its melodic and soft style made it ideal for moments of courtship or ceremonies. It was performed in the form of "double dances" and was very popular with composers such as Giovanni Gabrieli and Michael Praetorius.
