Newline Secure is a Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) integration software that offers robust security alerting capabilities, enabling organizations to receive and process CAP messages from third-party security platforms like Singlewire Informacast and Centegix Crisis Alert. This helps ensure seamless integration with existing emergency alert systems and your Newline products. Note: Newline Secure is currently supported on the Q Pro Series.

What is Newline Secure?

Step 2: Enter your email address, accept the terms and conditions, then select "Create Account." Tip: An organization domain is required to create an account!

Step 1: Navigate to the Newline Secure portal. Then, select "No account? Create Account" to begin setting up your account.

Step 4: You will be redirected to the log in screen and see the following pop up about a verification email.

Step 3: Enter your organization name. This will be your school district, campus name, or comany! Then, select "Create Account."

Step 6: Your account has been successfully created! Click "Log In" to sign into your Newline Secure account.

Step 5: After clicking the verification link sent to your email, you will be redirected to this page. Set a password for your Newline Secure account, then click "Sign Up."

  • To log in to your Newline Secure account, start by navigating to: https://secure.newline-interactive-global.com/
  • Then, enter your email address, accept the terms and conditions, and select "Log In."
  • Enter your password to access your Newline Secure portal.

Singlewire Integration with

The following section will provide an overview on how to integrate Newline Secure with Singlewire InformaCast.
  • After pressing the "+" icon, type in a name for your group in the text box. Then, click the "✓" icon.
  • Click the "Device" tab from the left menu.
  • Then, locate the "Groups" window on the right side of the screen. Press the "+" to add a new group.
    • Tip: If you don't see the "Groups" window, you can press the "Groups" icon to open it.

Step 2: Register your Devices

There are three methods for enrolling your devices to a Newline Secure Device Group. Click through each option below to learn more!

1. Single device registration through the Newline Secure web portal

2. Bulk device registration through the Newline Secure web portal

3. Registration through the Newline Secure Android app on your Newline panel

  • Input the device's serial number and set a name for the device. Then, click "Next."
  • Click the "Device" tab on the left side of your portal. Then, make sure the group you'd like to enroll the panel in is select from the "Groups" window on the right.
  • Navigate to and click the blue "Add" button, then select "Add" from the dropdown menu.

  • Enter your devices into the Excel table and save the import template to your computer (in .xlsx format).
  • Download the import template using the provided link.

  • Select "Upload' or drag and drop the Excel file into the designated area.
  • Then, click the confirmation button to complete bulk registration of your devices.

  • Open the Newline Secure application on your Newline panel.
  • In the "Registration" window, select "Account Binding."
  • Log in with your Newline Secure account information.

  • Enter a device name for the display. This is how you will identify it within your Newline Secure portal!
  • Then, select "Next."

  • Note: These settings automatically apply globally across all Newline Secure groups and devices.
  • On the "Alert Settings" tab, you can customize the alert background image and audio level for your Newline Secure alerts:

  • Then, click the "Create Message Template" icon in the top right corner.
  • Inside of your Singlewire InformaCast console, navigate to "Notifications" -> "Message Templates."

  • Note: You will also have to add in a recipient to save this template.
  • Add the following items into the message template.
    • Template Name
    • Alert Subject
    • Alert Body (Description)

In this guide, we will be creating two different scenarios - an "Alert" scenario and an "All Clear" scenario.

Step 5: Create your Singlewire InformaCast Scenario(s)

The "Alert" scenario will activate the Newline Secure application on a group of devices and display the subject and description of a Singlewire InformaCast Message Template.
The "Clear" scenario will clear out any existing alerts that are being displayed on a group of devices, returning them to normal functionality.

  • Then, click the "Create Scenario" icon in the top right.
  • Inside of your Singlewire InformaCast console, navigate to "Notifications" -> "Command Center" -> "Scenarios" on the side toolbar.

  • Enter the desired scenario name, and choose an icon/color for your alert button.
  • Select your preferred Scenario Type. Then, click "Continue."
    • For this guide, we will be using the "Standard" scenario type.

  • To create a Singlewire API Connector to attach to a Singlewire Scenario, we first need to generate the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) endpoint information for each Newline Secure group.
  • Click the "CAP" icon in the device group list to generate CAP integration information.

Tips:

  • Ensure that "Security Platform" is set to Singlewire.
  • Ensure that "Body" is set to Alert.

  • Now, you should see a window that contains the API endpoint information for your chosen Newline Secure group (see below).
  • Keep this window open, as we will need to copy and paste this information over to the Singlewire InformaCast console.

  • In your Singlewire InformaCast console, navigate back to Scenarios and re-open the "Alert" scenario that was created in the previous step.
  • Once your "Alert" scenario is open, click "API Connector." Then, select "Add API Connector."

  • 4 - Copy over the Value from your Newline Secure group's CAP information window.
  • 5 - Ensure you check the "Encrypt" box.
  • 1 - Create a name for your API connector.
  • 2 - Copy over the Webhook URL from your Newline Secure group's CAP information window.
  • 3 - Copy over the Key from your Newline Secure group's CAP information window.

Step 6: Generate CAP "Alert" Information

  • A new window - titled "Add an API Connector" - should appear (see below). Select the "Headers" tab.
  • Then, use the CAP Alert information we gathered from Newline Secure to create this connector.

  • After clicking save, you will be sent back to the Scenario Edit Screen. You will now be able to see that the API Connector has been added.
  • Tip: Ensure that you click save more than once to finish adding your API Connector to the scenario.

  • Then, click on the "Body" tab and copy over the Body from your Newline Secure group's CAP information window.
  • Click "Save."

  • To create a Centegix API Connector to attach to a Centegix IP Integration, we first need to generate the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) endpoint information for each Newline Secure group.

  • Then, select "Admin Panel."

  • This will take you to the "New IP Integration" screen, where we will enter the Newline Secure API Connectors information from the previous section. In the slides that follow, we'll look at each drop down.

  • On the "Alert Integrations" dashboard, select "+ Add Integration" in the top right corner.

  • Next, we will select the type of alert to apply. From the dropdown, select the alert type that you created earlier.

  • Click on the "Select Event" dropdown. In this step, we'll be creating an "Open," so select "On Alert Open" from the list.

  • Next is the "endpoint." For this field, we will copy the "Webhook URL" from the Newline Secure portal (see highlighted in below).
  • Then, paste the "Webhook URL" into the "endpoint" field highlighted below:

  • Now we will choose the "Authentication Scheme." Please select "Basic Auth" from the dropdown menu.
  • For "Basic Auth," copy the username and password from the Newline Secure portal and paste them in the appropriate fields in the Centegix CrisisAlert console.

  • Lastly, we will choose the action type. Select "External POST Request" from the dropdown menu.
  • Then, please select "XML" as the object type and paste the Alert "Body" from Newline Secure into the appropriate field.

  • Now that we have created an IP Integration for the "Alert," we will repeat the same steps for the "Clear."

  • Finally, double check that you have entered everything correctly.
  • Then, select "Create Integration.
