Who is Albert Bandura?

He was a canadian american psychologist and was a professor of social science in psychology at standford. He was one of the most influential psychologists for his research on obsetvational learning.

What is the Social Learning Theory?

Introduced by Albert Bandura in 1973, it says that behaviors are learned by observation and imitation of others behaviors We learn table manners from wathcing our partents

What are the Mediational Processes?

1 Attention

The extent to where we notice certian behaviors We notice our parents clean the house before bed

3 Reproduction

Ability to preform an observed behavior When we move out we clean our own house before we go to bed

2 Retention

How well we remeber that certian behavior We start to help clean the hosue before bed

4 Motivation

Will to determine behavior We choose to clean our house because of the feel we get once its clean

Explore Bandura's contributions to understanding aggression and violence in the media, discussing the implications for societal attitudes and behaviors.

It is known that we learn things by observing behaviors and repeating them. This has lead to the belief that media causes large impacts on children, teens, and adults. These impacts come from us observing the things that we see whether on social media, tv shows, or movies. Some behavioral changes that have been noticed are lack of empathy, becoming more fearful of the world, and agression.

Investigate specific examples where Bandura’s social learning theory has been applied successfully in educational settings, discussing the outcomes and implications for learning.

Bandura's theory can be seen in elementary classrooms. For examople most early childhood development teachers use what i would call a "simion says' approch. They say to do something, demonstrate it for the class and then the class repeates the behavior or action the teacher is exhibiting. Another example would be learning a foreign language. The teacher gives a list of terms/ words that you repeate and learn.

Investigate the application of Bandura's social learning theory in the context of online platforms and digital media, exploring how observational learning occurs in virtual environments.

There are many different ways we exhibit observational learning with online platforms and in the digital media. For example many people use youtube to learn about new things and for figuring out someting new. The person making the video preforms the task and then we repeat the task

Discuss the potential limitations and criticisms of Bandura's social learning theory, considering alternative explanations for observational learning and behavior acquisition.

Many argue that the social learning theory doesnt fully explain the cognitive processes involved with learning. They also say that it undermines the other forms of learning. Another factor is that it in a real world setting it is hard to predict a behavior. There are also genetic predispositions which impact behavior
