Who is Albert Bandura?

• Albert Bandura was born December 4, 1925 in Mundare, Alberta, Canda and died July 26, 2021 in Standford, California, U.S.

• He was a psychologist and orginator of social cognotive theory known as the "Bobo Doll Experiment".

• He got his Bacholear's degree at the University of British Columbia, then countinued education at the University of Iowa to get his master's and doctorate in clinical psychology.

• Demonstrated that children can learn behaviors through the observation of adults.

What is the Social Learning Theory?

A Social learning theory that learning occurs through observation, imitation, and modeling is also influenced by factors such as attention, motivation, attitudes and emotions. The theory accounts for the interaction of enviromental and cognotive elements that affect how people learn.

The outcomes of a flipped classroom is that students can learn at their own pace, students learn rather than encounter matrial in class, and it is flexible. The impliction of flipped classrooms is that students develop independent learning skill by themselves and foster a more engaging and interactive learning experience.

Bandura's contributions to understanding aggression and violence in the media

Bandura's concept of observational learning relates to the influence of media on behavior because when people see certain behaviors represented in movies, TV shows, and other forms of media they may imtiate the actions in real life. We can implict that the more agressive and violent behaviors we see online people may learn it is okay to mimic these behaviors.

Limitations and criticisms of Badura's social theory

• Bandura's theory has been critisied for not addressing biological factors in behavior and development. It should consider both eviromental and biological influences.

• Some critics argue that it oversimpify's the complex process of human learning. It may not fully account for cognotive processes involved in learning beyond observation and imitation.

• Many of Bandura's studies focused on short-term effects rather than long-term.

What is The enduring legacy of Albert Bandura in the Field of psychology

He hypothesized that we experience vicarious reinforcement or punishment when watching and observing models . He is still very relevant till this day because as social media becomes bigger the more other are influenced by observing behaviors.
