They serve as subject matter experts to affiliates, providing feedback and physical site assessments related to public health and medical needs.

The Finance Team at FirstDay is composed of dedicated and experienced professionals who deliver comprehensive accounting and financial services to our affiliate organizations. This department ensures the accurate and timely reporting of all fiscal transactions and cash flows, both incoming and outgoing. Throughout the month, the finance team performs a variety of tasks (listed to the right), culminating in the publication of financial statements once all transactions are processed at month's end. Adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), they maintain transparency and consistency in both internal and external reporting.

FirstDay Foundation Management Service Providers (MSPs) are responsible for helping affiliate organizations solve issues, create value, maximize growth, improve performance, and achieve mission-critical goals and objectives. The scope of engagement is highly variable and is geared toward problem-solving at a higher level. From identifying approaches, to cost-effectively managing companies’ infrastructure for the long term, the Management Services team provides tools to improve decision-making and communication, and solutions to optimize funding for projects and new lines of services. Management Services is an additional support service to internal management functions, and for various legal and practical reasons, should not be seen as a replacement for internal management. Management Service Providers are not and do not become part of the organization that they're providing services to. Management Services brings institutional knowledge and “best practices” to ensure consistency, and collective mission alignment.
Employee Relations & Culture Services
The Employee Relations and Culture Services department is responsible for fostering a positive and respectful work environment by supporting healthy relationships between employees and the organization. This team typically manages conflict resolution, addresses workplace concerns or complaints (such as discrimination, harassment, or misconduct), and ensures fair and consistent application of policies and procedures. Their goal is to enhance employee satisfaction, trust, and belonging, which ultimately contributes to a stronger organizational culture and improved retention.
Protective Services
Protective Services is responsible for the safety and security of FirstDay Foundation and all its affiliated companies. Protective Services maintains a cadre of law enforcement officers to serve as physical security and escorts when needed. Protective Services provides the following upon request:
- Safety training
- Inspections
- Threat assessments
- Criminal history checks
- Assistance in criminal and civil investigations (as it pertains to FirstDay Foundation and/or its affiliated companies)

Human Capital Management Services
The Human Capital Management Services team focuses on maximizing the value of our organization’s workforce by strategically managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This includes recruiting and onboarding talent, managing employee performance, administering compensation and benefits, supporting training and development, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Strategy & Business Development Services
Strategy & Business Development supports our affiliated companies with identifying new program opportunities, funding sources, and helping to develop business strategies that align with each organization's mission, vision, and values, as well as projected capabilities. Support provided also includes proposal creation, submission, and negotiation.

If your first contact with an influential person is asking for a favor, you shouldn’t expect much to happen. Instead, Public Affairs & Government Relations Services constantly identifies and cultivates stakeholder relationships, building trust over time via a steady drumbeat of meaningful contact and follow-through. Public Affairs & Government Relations Services closely tracks and engages on policy matters important to the non-profits served by FirstDay Foundation, primarily at the state and federal levels. The team supports entities’ strategic initiative development, messaging, and outreach to elected and government officials, and is comprised of longtime public servants who have served in Congress and various state legislatures, as well as senior positions for multiple governors and U.S. senators.

The Benefits team is responsible for providing employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement, flexible spending, vacation time, sick leave, FMLA, and more. This team works to negotiate each of our employee benefits packages to ensure that employees pay the lowest price possible.
Grants Management Services
The Grants Management department oversees all aspects of grant administration, from application to award notification, engaging with new grantees, and ensuring that grants align with FirstDay Foundation's mission and values. This department works directly with the office of the President and CEO to identify and invite select nonprofits to apply for funding based on their potential for impactful work. They oversee relationships with selected organizations, ensuring alignment with FirstDay Foundation's standards for the effective and sustainable use of grant funds.
