How did they meet?

On July 6, 1957, Paul first saw John and his band perform at the Woolton church fete where the two were introduced by a mutual friend. John chose to ask Paul to join the Quarrymen because Paul was a better musician than anyone in the Quarrymen and he felt the band would benefit from that. When Paul joined the band as a rhythm guitarist he invited his friend George Harrison to watch the band perform. George and Paul met at school because they rode the same school bus. They would later meet Ringo Starr in Hamburg of October 1960.

Who influenced The Beatles?

John Lennon

John and Paul's main vocal influences were The Everly Brothers. Their harmonizing style was influenced by them. Bob Dylan was also a big inspiration. He had this message of opening up yourself to the audience through your personal music and reflective pop songs. This stuck with John lennon

Musical Background Centered around the core duo of Lennon and McCartney, who began their musical collaboration in Liverpool in 1957, the band emerged from a mutual passion for American rock and roll. Over the years, they learned a bit from collaborating with classically-trained musicians like George Martin, but none of them ever developed a deep understanding of traditional music theory while they were in the band.
