~ My opinion ~

Marilla and Matthew are siblings. When Anne arrives their home, Marilla immediately think about returning her, but Matthew does not agree. He is very quiet, and he enjoys Anne’s presence because she talks a lot while Marilla is more close-minded and refuses to let her a chance at first. She will become kinder and more open-minded thanks to Anne. They will be Anne’s first loving family and will live happy with her.

Why did I choose this show ?

I chose to present this series because I think it is extraordinary. It moved me deeply and allowed me to see the nature and the world around us from a different viewpoint. Moreover, it conveys powerful messages about self-acceptance and acceptance of others, the desire of freedom, and the power of words. I watched the entire series in a little bit of time, and I never get tired of it. I give it a 5/5 stars.

My favourite characters

I love the character of Anne because she is radiant, passionate, and incredibly creative. I admire her constant love of life despite all the hard situations she went through. She is a person full of strength and character, who shows us that nothing is impossible when we truly want it. I also really like Matthew, who I found touching and sweet to Anne. He is rather discreet and quiet most of the time, however he conveys very strong emotions. Finally, I found the balance between the two characters amazing: one is outgoing, while the other is shy; one is talkative, and the other is silent…. Their duo is really beautiful.

Gilbert is a very intelligent boy who is dedicated to his studies. He loves traveling and becomes passionate about medicine as the series progresses. He works hard to care for his sick father, as his mother has passed away. From the moment he first meets Anne, he falls in love with her and tries to get closer to her throughout the series.

Diana comes from a wealthy family and was raised quite strictly by her parents. She is very polite, kind, and intelligent. She is also pretty and catches evryone's attention (especially boys' attention). She meets Anne on an afternoon, and the two girls quickly become friends. Despite their opposing personalities, they immediately become inseparable.

She is the main character of the series. Orphan since 4 months old, she lived in many families before arriving at the Cuthberts' home. Determined to stay at Green Gables, she does everything in her power to convince them to keep her. She is joyful, passionate and really smart. She also loves reading, writing, observing nature and helping others.

The summary

In the 19th century, a young orphan named Anne is sent to live with elderly siblings, Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert by mistake. Initially upset and surprised, they want to send her back but eventually get attached to her and decide to adopt her. Moreover, Anne faces rejection from the community due to her background and her way to talk. However, she is very stubborn and refuses to give up. Thus, she finally finds her place in Avonlea despite many challenges and adventures on the way.
