Autobiography

My name is Deborah Bellamy, and I have built my career at the intersection of technology and innovation. From exploring cutting-edge advancements to implementing solutions that drive efficiency and progress. My journey has been defined by a passion for utilizing technology to solve real-world challenges. This autobiography captures the my family, milestones, lessons, and transformative moments that have shaped my path in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

Foundations of EdTech

Welcome to the Technology Artifact Gallery, a curated collection showcasing the intersection of technology and education. This gallery features a variety of digital tools, resources, and innovative practices that have shaped modern learning environments. Each artifact represents a unique approach to integrating technology into educational settings, highlighting its potential to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement.

Unintended Consequences

This assignment addresses 1, 2, and 3, of the AECT, and 4.1, and 4.4,of the ISTE Coaches Standards. Each of the standards addresses creating equitable learning and designing learning experiences that meet the need of the learner.

This assignment really opened my eyes to some things that occurs with the use of technology. What you may design to meet the need of the learner does not always meet their need. Althought the designer did not intend for techology to have some negative effects. The designer must consider and explore the negative and positive use of technolgy before implementation.

Teaching and Learning Theories

Design and Assessment Theories

Write a statement about what I learned and the technology standard it addressed While compeleting this assignment, I learned about some theories that I was not familar. Associated Standards: ISTE 4.1, 4.3, 4.4, and 4.5 AECT Standards: 1, 2, 3, and 4. These standards focus on using theory and practical application in the development of content with a focus on creating quality learning experiences.

Implementation and Development Theories

Near Pod Lesson

Adult Learning Theories

This is not the first time that I have tried to create a lesson using Nearpod. The other times Nearpod seemed like it was only for K-12. And could not find much use for it. This time, I had to complete the assignment., now I must say that it can be used in higher education. The technology standards addressed: AECT 1, 3, and 5 ISTE Standards 4.1, 4.4, and 4.7. The focus of these standards is using theory to desgn and develop content. It is difficult to select a few standards, I can see how each of the standards could be utilized.

Designing a Technology Intergration Action Plan

Assignment Reflection

Designing a technology integration plan with the goal of increasing college student persistence and learning required thoughtful alignment of tools, strategies, and outcomes. This outcome will be achieved by guiding and supporting instructors as they choose the appropriate tools that best support student learning. Part of this plan to also assist them to increase their skill level with current tools. This assignment increased my awareness in how to critically evaluates prior to recommending the tools. The plan focused on supporting instructors through using collaborative platforms, personalized feedback, and engaging multimedia tools such as Brightspace, and Google Workspace. These tools were selected to promote student agency, improve understanding, and foster connection—all key elements for increasing persistence in higher education. The integration plan aimed to help instructors build confidence by learning how to access and apply course content, communicate effectively, and manage their learning through technology. Through discussion boards, video reflections, shared documents, and embedded feedback, IISTE Standards for Students, especially: • Standard 1: Empowered Learner, by encouraging students to take ownership of their learning paths and use technology to set and track goals. • Standard 3: Knowledge Constructor, through the development of research, evaluation, and content curation skills. • Standard 6: Creative Communicator, by using digital tools to demonstrate learning in a variety of formats. AECT Standards: • Standard 2 – Content Pedagogy, by applying technology in ways that enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. • Standard 3 – Learning Environments, through the creation of accessible, flexible, and inclusive digital learning spaces. • Standard 5 – Research, by using data to evaluate the effectiveness of tools on student performance and persistence.

Microcredentialing

Microcredentialing is a good way to gain some knowledge and skills about a particular tool or software, but in small manageale bites. I would like to say, that before iI began getting microcredentials, I thought it was a waste of time, because I did not see the value in gaining credentials. The process of gaining these credentials is definitely valuable. It allows you to learn different tools and software at your own pace, which allows you to identify ways to incorporate them into your current work or daily life. Earning credentials meets both AECT and ISTE Coaching standards. AECT Standards, are met through designing, using, and assessing the tool. ISTE Standards are met through maximizing potential technology. Deepening expertise througn professional learning with a commitment to continous improvement. During the process of microcredentialing, ISTE standards are met though the process of evaluating the tool.

Podcasting

Assignment Reflection

Creating a podcast was an engaging and meaningful way to blend technology with instructional design. The process required planning, content creation, audio recording, and editing, which I found to be challenging. I had thought about creating a podcast, but thought it would be to difficult. I found that it really is not the difficult. Ialos learned from the SAMR that allowing students to choose from two or three options is not really allowing choice. REal choice involves let them select a topic that is interesting to them and the allow them to present it in a way that is meaningful to them. That is when real learning occurs, and remembering that failure should be a part of the process. This assignment aligns with both ISTE Coaching Standards and AECT Technology Standards. ISTE Standards for Coaches, podcasting supports Standard 4: Learning Designer by encouraging educators to design authentic learning experiences using digital tools. Standard 5: Professional Learning Facilitator, format. 6: Data-Driven Decision-Maker, when feedback and engagement data are used to improve content. The podcast incorporates AECT Standards, Standard 2 – Content Pedagogy, because it required applying effective teaching methods through multimedia. It also connects to Standard 3 – Learning Environments, the podcasts can be used to support flexible, mobile learning beyond the traditional classroom. Finally, Standard 5 – Research is relevant when educators explore best practices for audio learning and assess its impact on engagement and comprehension.

Book Creator

Assignment Reflection Book Creator was user-friendly and empowers teachers and students to be creative by making digital books. I can see the benefit in using in a variety of college courses. It can be used to allow student to demonstrate and express their learning by creating a digital book. The tool aligns well with the ISTE Coaching Standards, especially in areas like collaboration, instructional design, and inclusion. Coaches can use Book Creator to model effective technology use, support diverse learners, and design engaging digital content with educators. It also meets key AECT Standards, particularly in instructional design and learning environments. Book Creator allows educators to create multimedia-rich materials that are student-centered and pedagogically sound. Book Creator promotes active learning and supports both ISTE and AECT standards, helps create inclusive, engaging, and standards-aligned learning experiences.
