What can cause food insecurity?

Your Task

In groups of 4, you will create a plan to support people who are food insecure in our town.

Create a visual presentation (Google Slide, Genially, Jamboard, etc.) of your proposal which will contain the following:

• What actions you will take.
• How much it will cost and who you will need help from.
• Why it will help people who are food insecure. This should not be a short-term solution. It should help people get back on their feet long-term.

Write a reflection about how your plan can be used in other towns, states, or countries. What changes would you have to make for it to work in other places?

Some people may not have enough money to buy food on a regular basis. This can be caused by:

• High price of food (groceries or eating out).
• Too many other bills (expensive housing, medical bills, etc.).
