The City
Monte-Carlo (in French Monte-Carlo, in Monegasque Munte Carlu), is the most central part of the city-state of the Principality of Monaco, of which it constitutes one of the four main districts. It is a city characterized by advanced building elements such as very high skyscrapers ideal to accommodate so many people in a place as small as Monte Carlo. It is one of the countries with the highest GDP per capita (about 110,000 €). It is a maritime city, there is also a port with huge yachts.
The Formula 1
The Munich Formula 1 Grand Prix is held on the city circuit of Monte Carlo in the Principality of Munich. This is the oldest stage of the calendar, the first valid edition for the world championship is dated 21 May 1950. The race in Monaco has always been a regular event since then. The record of victories per driver (six) belongs to Ayrton Senna, while the most successful manufacturer is McLaren, with 15 wins; the only Monegasque driver to have won in Monaco is Charles Leclerc.
The Oceanographic Museum
The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is a centre for the conservation and study of the sea founded in 1889 by Prince Albert I of Monaco. He built it dedicated to the sea, with laboratories, collections of his explorations and aquariums of flora and fauna of the Mediterranean.
In the Room of the Whale there is the famous and monumental skeleton of a whale found on the beach of Pietra Ligure on September 6, 1896. On the second floor there is a terrace with views and a restaurant.
The Royal Family
The Monegasque royal family is the extended family of the Prince-Sovereign of Monaco. The current family is from Louis II of Monaco and is known to the whole world after the marriage of Prince Rainier with the American actress Grace Kelly. Their official residence is at the Palace of the Princes in Monaco.
The Casino
Casino de Monte Carlo is a gambling and entertainment complex located in Monte Carlo, Monaco. It includes a casino, the Grand Théâtre de Monte Carlo and the home of Les Ballets de Monte Carlo.
The casino is owned by Société des Bains de Mer de Monaco, a joint stock company in which the government of Monaco has a majority stake. The company also owns the main hotels, sports clubs, establishments, restaurants and some nightclubs throughout Monaco.
