Introduction to Tennis

The aim is to hit the ball over the net into the opponent's court and score points when they fail to return it.

Tennis is a racket sport played either individually in teams of two (doubles) or in teams.

These courts slow down the ball and make it bounce higher.Roland Garros

These courts provide a fast surface with low and unpredictable bounces.Wimbledon

This surface offers a medium speed with a predictable bounce.US Open

Paso 2

Rules

Serves:The server must hit the ball diagonally across the court into the opponent's service box.

Points:After a successful serve, players hit the ball back and forth. The point continues until one player fails to return the ball or hits it out of bounds.

Scoring:The game goes in points (15, 30, 40, adv,game). A player must win by two points to win the game and must win 6 or 7 games by two if not, there would be a tie break to win a set.

Set and match:In order to win a game the player has to win two or three sets depending on the tournament .

The ATP Points System and Ranking

ATP Points: The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) awards ranking points based on players' performance in tournaments. Each tournament gives the player differents points:-Grand Slams (like Wimbledon and the US Open): 2,000 points for the winner. -ATP Finals: Up to 1,500 points if a player wins all matches. -ATP Masters 1000: 1,000 points for the winner. -ATP 500 and ATP 250: These give 500 and 250 points respectively to the winner. The player with the most weeks at World number. 1 in the ATP rankings is Novak Djokovic, who has been number 1 for 425 weeks​.

3.Tennis improves hand-eye coordination because players must react quickly to hit the ball within seconds. 4.Tennis also improves our strength as player must hit the ball hard to complicate things for their opponents.

Disadvantages

Rafa Nadal is an exemple of how tennis can have disadvantages whch are mainly injuries. He has had 30 injuries throughout his career which have made him been injuries for more than 2000 days. However, Nadal is an exemple that hard work lead to succes as despite his numerous injuries he is conisder one of the best player in tennis history.
