Volunteer
Assist with Meetings and Activities: Volunteers support the troop leader by assisting with planning and conducting troop meetings and activities, such as badge work, outdoor activities, or community service projects. Support Girls in Their Growth: Volunteers help the girls with earning badges, completing their projects, or learning new skills, providing encouragement and guidance along the way. Provide Additional Supervision: Volunteers may be responsible for ensuring safety and supervision during meetings, events, and field trips, particularly in larger groups or outdoor settings. Assist with Fundraising and Events: Many volunteers help organize fundraising events or troop outings, working with the troop leader and Product Coordinator to ensure the activities run smoothly. Communicate with Parents and Troop Leaders: Volunteers often serve as a liaison between the troop leader and parents, providing updates on troop activities and helping with coordination for trips, events, or special projects.
Troop Leader Details
Mentorship & Leadership: Guide and mentor Girl Scouts, fostering skill development, friendships, and a fun, impactful experience.Troop Management: Set schedules, plan meetings, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for both new and returning members.Training & Support: Complete required online training and receive ongoing support from GSEMA staff and volunteer coordinators.Safety & Communication: Facilitate meetings following safety protocols, communicate with volunteers, families, and the broader Girl Scout community.Financial Oversight & Program Support: Ensure accurate troop financial records and support participation in product programs like Cookies and Fall Product.
Product Coordinator
Coordinate Product Sales: The Product Coordinator organizes and oversees the troop’s participation in product sales programs, such as the annual Cookie Sale. This includes ordering products, distributing them to girls, and managing inventory.Organize and Manage Events: This role often involves planning and supporting in-person or virtual sales events, booth sales, or cookie deliveries. The Product Coordinator also ensures that the girls have all the tools and support they need to sell effectively. Communicate with Parents and Leaders: The Product Coordinator keeps parents informed about sales goals, deadlines, and product delivery schedules, ensuring smooth communication between all parties. Ensure Financial Accountability: The Product Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all sales funds are collected and submitted accurately, and that the troop complies with Girl Scouts of the USA financial guidelines.
