Causes
It was first discovered by Doctor Henry Turner in 1959.
Chromosomal disorder affecting females where one X chromosome is either completely or partially absent
What is the Turner syndrome?
Turner syndrome occurs when meiosis, the process of forming gametes, fails to distribute sex chromosomes properly. This typically results from nondisjunction, where one gamete lacks a sex chromosome. If such a gamete, missing an X chromosome, is fertilized by a normal gamete, the resulting zygote has a single X chromosome (45,X) instead of the typical two sex chromosomes (46,XX or 46,XY), leading to Turner syndrome.
