Where is Sheffield located on the map?
The Millennium Gallery is Sheffield’s premier destination for art, craft and design and one of the most visited FREE attractions in England. Here you can see some of Sheffield’s unique heritage, including the metalwork which made the city world-famous, alongside contemporary art and design exhibitions.The Museum houses two permanent exhibitions. The Sykes Gallery is home to the Metalwork Collection, one of the finest in the world containing some 13,000 items and thought to be the most extensive grouping of Sheffield-made cutlery, flatware (forks and spoons) and holloware (bowls, teapots, containers) in existence.The Guild of St George’s Ruskin Collection celebrates the visionary ideas of the Victorian artist and writer, John Ruskin. The collection features the manuscripts, minerals, watercolours and drawings Ruskin amassed and gifted to the people of Sheffield in the 1870s, to reveal connections between nature and art.

Sheffield Botanical Gardens opened in 1898, in that same year there was a danger of the gardens being sold to property developers. The Sheffield Town Trust, one of the UK's oldest charities, stepped in and purchased the gardens. All donations collected are used to maintain the good condition of the gardens and their historical monuments.
