Jade is worried that she might lose friends - they might not want to know her or she might have to move away if her parents split up.
Jade is worried that people will treat her differently if she says anything. She just wants to feel normal.
Jade doesn't want her mum to know that she has been checking her phone for her dad. She doesn't want to make her mum or dad angry.
She knows that her dad can lose his temper, but she would never want him to get in any trouble if she did say anything.
She has never told anyone about her home life because she does not want anyone to judge her or her parents.
Whenever her friends ask to come round to her house, Jade makes excuses and feels embarrassed because she does not want them to see the way her mum and dad can be.
