Planning a literature research strategy

Write your topic/question/problem and underline the key concepts.

For each key concept, list as many synonyms/alternatives you can think of.

Think about any limits that might apply to your topic/question/problem.

Consider how you might broaden or narrow your search if you find too few/many references.

Now you are ready to start entering your search on the databases of your choice.

Remember to keep accurate records of what you have done, and why!
