Thermometer was used. To measure the temperature of the sick. This was caused by the mass people who are infected with the flare. This was also used to measure the temperature of the flares. Thermometer can be very helpful in this situation of people getting sick.

Mask

Mask of protection, This is in the book because of the massive virus that is going around. The mask will be put on by some different people like Alec. He put it on because at the end of the book he gets infected. This mask could defend bactrica from going into people. Masks are sometimes used to cover the eyes before the sun's flares blind them.

Matches

Matches of fire. These are items because of the flames. These are made of fire and matches where lit from people burning down many houses. Matches also help be a good source to heat up food. Match could heat up soup without burning a hole through the bottom.

Soup/beans

Can of soup, This is going to be an item because it was used when all the stores were closed. The only thing left was soup out of a can. The team gathered a lot of these cans to eat later that day. This helped them survive the solar flares and viruses. Soup was a good energy source because of the time it could last.

Water

Water is shown in the book. From the boiling water. People were fighting to eat water that would solve their problems. Water can also be used to take a shower to get bacteria off of you. Water became really hot and sometimes hurt people from the burning.

The KIll Order

The story begins in the city of New York . With a kid named Alec, Alec was walking down the street before getting a notification for the big solar flare. Mark is the protagonist of this story. Mark wants to harm some of the survivors. I liked this book because there was a lot of action and it kept the book fun. I also thought all the characters had a cool personality and this kept it interesting. My favorite part was when they had to escape the city and go somewhere safe. There was a lot of drama in this part and it was very interesting. I wish the ending was a little better with more of a cliff hanger and not a slow ending. I recommend this book to someone who likes action and drama. It would be very interesting for that reader. Out of 5 stars I give it a 4 star.
