The bald eagle

The bald eagle is a large bird native to America. It has a white head and tail, whith a whingspan that can reach up to 7.5 feet, giving a powerful and impressive look.

The bald eagle has been the national bird of the United States since 1782, when it was placed with outspread wings on the Great Seal of our country. It appears in many government institutions and on official documents, making it the most pictured bird in all of America.

• The bald eagle isn't actually blald, it has a head full of white feathers as an a adult

• They usually mate for life and can live up to 20-30 years old

• Bald eagles have excellent vision, about four time sharpener than a human's, wich help them spot food from far away

• They build some of the largest nets of any bird

• It's also the national bird of Mexico, where is called "àguila calva"
