Total Task Presentation
In a total task presentation, instruction occurs on each step of a task analysis during each session.
Forward Chaining
Forward chaining is a slow format for teaching a task analysis in which the learner masters the first step in a sequence before proceeding to instruction, one step at a time, on the remaining steps.
Backward Chaining
Backward chaining is a slow format for teaching a task analysis in which the learner first masters the final step in a sequence and then learns the remaining steps, one at a time, from the final step to the first.
Acquisition
Acquisition is the initial phase of learning during which learners acquire new skills.
Fluency
Fluency is the phase of learning during which learners begin to use acquired skills more efficiently and with greater ease.
