Block Categories
The Scratch coding editor has lots of blocks to choose from. Click the colorful circles to find different blocks.
Creating Code
To use a code block, drag it to the work space. Code blocks snap together. To get rid of blocks, drag them back to the block categories and let go.
Coding Area
This is where you will build codes by dragging blocks from the categories. You can zoom in or out to make the blocks easier to see.
Adding a New Sprite
Click the blue circle with a cat on it, to add a new sprite. You can click categories to find a sprite, use the search box or scroll the page.
Stage and Sprite
This is the stage area. It is where you will see your code come to life! Characters are called sprites. You can code them to move, talk, and much more!

Click the blue circle with mountains on it to add a background. Choose from categories, use the search box, or scroll the page to find one.
Green Flag and Stop Sign
If you use the when green flag clicked block in your code, you can click the green flag above the stage to make your code run. You can press the stop sign to make your code stop running.
