First we are going to start explaining you about our school, Puerta de la Serena.

Our school

Our school works with: immigrant population, in a situation of economic disadvantage, with special educational needs. We also receive several students belonging to the LGTBIQ+ community.

We also have a radio equipment from which we record very interesting programs.

Apart of arts, our school also likes science, which is why we celebrate science week, in which other schools visit us to see incredible experiments. We also have a graduate of Science.

We are the only school with a graduate of arts (scenics and plastics) in the region, therefore, many people from the surrounding towns come to study here.

There are 652 students and 75 teachers in our school. It is a pretty big school.

Our school was founded in 2005, less than 20 years ago, so it is quite recent.

"Tortilla de Patatas", This dish was created here in Villanueva. In Spain and some places in Europe, it is a very famous food.

A very famous dish

Villanueva is located in the western part of Spain, so unlike Kołobrzeg there it does not snow at all and it is very hot. The last time it snowed there was 14 years ago.

Villanueva de la Serena was born in the middle of the 13th century. Founded by some farmers from Medellín, who baptized it with the name of Aldeanueva

Where is Extremadura and Badajoz

The Roman influence in Extremadura is reflected in its architectural legacy, such as the Roman Theater of Mérida, aqueducts and roads, and in its cultural, administrative and economic impact, which endures in the region.
