Causes
What is causing all the disasters nowadays?
- Global warming
- General pollution
- Desforestation
Tornado
hurricanes
types of disasters
- Forms over land
- Winds reaches 300mph
- Last for a few minutes / a couple of hours
- minutes warning
- Forms over water
- Winds reaches 180mph
- Last up to three weeks
- several days warning
Tsunamis
Could hell
Tsunami = catastrophic ocean wave, usually caused by a submarine earthquake, an underwater or coastal landslide, or a volcanic eruption.

earthquakes
Description
earthquake, any sudden shaking of the ground caused by the passage of seismic waves through Earth’s rocks. Seismic waves are produced when some form of energy stored in Earth’s crust is suddenly released, usually when masses of rock straining against one another suddenly fracture and “slip.”

Floodings
A flood is an overflow of water that submerges land that is usually dry. Floods are an area of study in the discipline of hydrology. They are the most common and widespread natural severe weather event.

Conclusions
We are the real threat
As a conclusion, we can say that we are the real threat, sometimes we may be afraid of those disasters and the power of nature, but in reality, the nature itself is afraid of us.
watch out for the rain!

'Your content is liked, but it engagesmuch more if it is interactive' - Genially
Pose a question or problem that makes the class think; it is the essential ingredient to maintain their attention. It is usually raised at the beginning of the topic to encourage critical thinking and participation.
Did you know... On the morning of November 1st, 1755 at 9:40, the Great Lisbon earthquake hit Portugal, as well as other parts of the Iberian Peninsula and Northwest Africa. Seismologists estimate the earthquake had a magnitude of 8.5 to 9.
The most destructive earthquake
The earthquake of May 22, 1960, that struck the town of Valdivia in southern Chile is the most powerful ever recorded and has become known as the Great Chilean Earthquake. It is thought to have measured 9.5 on the moment magnitude scale (MMS).
The largest tsunami ever seen
On July 9, 1958, an earthquake along the Fairweather Fault in the Alaska loosened about 30.6 million cubic meters of rock high above the northeastern shore of Lituya Bay. This mass of rock plunged from an altitude of approximately 914 meters down into the waters of Gilbert Inlet. The impact force of the rockfall generated a local tsunami that crashed against the southwest shoreline of Gilbert Inlet.
