The electors are the delegates that each state sends, after the election, to the Electoral College. Every elector will have to vote for the candidate who won in his state.

How do conventions work?

This kind of conventions are organized every four years by Republicans and Democrats. The first to take place is that of the opposition party, followed by that of the party of the president in office. The main goal is to elect the candidate for the presidential elections, to write and present the electoral program and to review some internal rules of operation of the party. It is essential, to present a convincing image of the party that emphasizes security and unity.
