My holiday in Ireland

2/4

I took this photo in the city of Portrush. At first glance, it might seem simple but it reminds me of my childhood

Day 1
2/ Sum up your Irish trip in a travel diary

I took this photo in the plane when the plane was over London. I really enjoyed seeing this city in the dark, I thought to myself at that moment that lives seem so insignificant at this height.

We left Lille early in the morning. Although I was tired from lack of sleep, I couldn’t sleep because of how excited I was. We arrived at the airport of Brussels and we registred. However we had issues and we nearly missed the flight. Everyone was stressed but hopefully we took the plane on time. Once in the plane I exchanged my seat with someone so I could sit with my friend. I’m usually anxious about flying in the air but this time it was okay. When the plane landed, it hit the ground so everyone was propelled upwards slightly, it was surprising. Once arrived we took the bus and went to a restaurant in Dublin to eat a local specialty : The fish and chips. Then we went to trinity college, we visited a sort of library. We felt like we were in the Harry Potter Universe. After this, we made predictions about our family and we laughed a lot. A lady in her sixties came to pick us up in her car. We discussed with her, in english of course and we learnt about her life, it was interesting. Her name was Theresa and her husband was named Patrick, they had 4 chlidren aged between 17 and 21. I was in the family with Samy and Alexis who are in my class and also with Théodore who is in Première 2. They lived in the countryside and their house was pretty big except. We had no problem except with the bathroom : The toilets and the shower were in the same room. As we were 10 in the house, the bathroom was occupied nearly everytime. We were pretty tired so we didn’t talk much and we went to bed early.

On the 4th day, we did a lot of bus rides to visit the cliffs. I really enjoyed these walks along the seaside, they allowed me to think and reconnect with nature. The shape of the landscapes surprised me: lots of hills but they were very flat, which is something you rarely see in France.

Day 4

As usual we woke up early and we ate cereals and bread. We went to the Titanic Belfast, the museum of the Titanic. There were a lot of activities which made it quite fun to visit. Moreover, we were free to go around so it wasn't annoying at all. We also visited artworks made by streetartists on walls. Some pieces of art were wonderful but beyond that, it also conveyed political and peace ideas. A well-known graffiti shows the horror of the war in Gaza. It was funny because a political party supporting workers claimed the French motto: liberty, equality, fraternity.

Day 3

We had to wake up at 6 hours and a half and we had to be at the bus at 8 o’clock. Like everyday we took a two hour bus ride before going to the first place. We spent the day in an old village. The universe was very realistic because there were characters who played the baker, the black-smith, the banker… We had to visit about thirty houses and it was very fun to do. I visited the houses with my friend Anaïs (in Première 2) and we discussed a lot with the characters. We even took a picture with a woman. In the bus we had fun taking photos with filters. Back to home we ate hamburgers and it was very good. Theresa also showed us a weird Irish specialty : Bread with fries. Finally, it wasn't that bad

Day 2

Thank you for reading !

The last day we woke up very tired but we were stressed about being late so it didn't slow us down. Before leaving Sammy realized he had forgotten his passport... Anyway we took the car with Theresa, she said goodbye to us and it struck me she told us: have a good life. We visited the Croke Park stadium, it was empty but it was still impressive. I also enjoyed discovering a new sport. After that we returned to Dublin and we had some free time. We took the opportunity to go to McDonald's and enjoy the very cheap nuggets. We then quickly visited the city before returning to the meeting point. We arrived at the airport and we were still late but this time we only delayed the take-off by 30 minutes. It was quite stressful for me because everyone was running to leave with the plane and I didn't always know where to go, in hindsight it was a great adventure. I took advantage of the magnificent view in the plane to think about my life and I also took the opportunity to chat with Alexis.

Day 5

After the cliffs, we had some free time in Portrush, we went to eat a cheeseburger, we played in an arcade and finally we visited the buildings there, such as a church for example. Back at home, we noticed that the family didn't appreciate when we were talking to eachother in french, so we tried to talk english when we were with them. It really helped them understand what we meant. In the evening, we talked a lot and so we went to bed very late.
