3. As the learner continues to read or engage with the text, they confirm or revise their initial hypotheses based on additional context and usage. With repeated exposure and usage in different contexts, the new word becomes part of the learner’s vocabulary.
1. The learner comes across an unfamiliar word while reading, listening, or engaging in conversations. They recognize the importance of understanding the unknown word to fully grasp the meaning of the sentence or passage.
2. The learner uses the context surrounding the unfamiliar word to infer its meaning. Based on the contextual clues, the learner forms a hypothesis about the possible meaning of the word.
