GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION

• Livestock farming emits large quantities of methane (ruminant's digestion)
• Crops treated with nitrogen-based fertilizers release nitrous oxyde in the atmosphere
• Food's transport also participate to the carbon dioxyde emission

DEFORESTATION AND LOSS OF BIODIVERSITY

• Tropical forest cleared to create more space for agricultural lands
• Deforestation of the Amazon rainforest mainly due to grown crops like soy for animal feed

POLLUTION FROM PESTICIDES AND FERTILIZERS

• Used to increase the crops yields
• Polluts soils and affects aquatic ecosystems
• And also very bad for our health...

ORGANIC FOOD

• Less greenhouse gas emissions
• Less pesticides
• No intensive livestock : more respectfull and ethic

VEGETERIAN FOOD

• No more problem with the intensive livestock
• More ethic
• Less land and water used
• However not always organic

IS IT WORTH BUYING IT ?

Higher standards = Higher prices Two different opinions :- The price is worth the ethic- Too expensive for some people But maybe there is an other solution...

• Good substitute

• Sustainable AND affordable

• No fertilizers needed

• Lower land and water uses
