Both countries have little earthquakes, floods, storms, lightning, hails, violent winds, and especially wildfires.

Floods

In Latvia floods are uncommon. Finland they have floods but they are very little.

Earthquakes

Earthquakes are really rare in Finland. They only happen 4-5 in a hundred years. And in Latvia they don't have any

Storms/violent winds

Storms are rare in summer. Several strong storms can come to Latvia every year. There has been only one hurricane in Finland on November 1-2, 2024.The other storms have not been so big.

Wildfires

• In Latvia there are 0 wildfires reported in 2024 but in 2018 there were 19 wildfires.

• in findland last year were total of 2,265 wildfires but average of 10 years there were 2,600 wildfires.

Lightning

• In Finland roughly 200 nights a year or every other clear night.

• In Latvia lightning usually happens in summers.

Hails

In Finland hails happens mostly every season but not in winter.
