Presidential election

The presidential election happen every four years the tuesday after the first of november. This year the election will be the 5 of November. The winner will start serving in january 2025.

Candidates

  • The candidates run for president only if they have specifics features
  • The primaries election: Citizens vote the parties to chose the candidates
  • In the 2024 are Donald Trump and Kamala Harris

In the USA there are two major parties:the Democrats and Republicans.

  • There are two chambers: Congress and Senate
  • They approve the laws and they controll plans of White House, only if they don't agree

Who can vote in the USA presidential election?

You can vote only if you:

  • a U.S.A. citizen
  • residency requirements
  • Are 18 years old
  • Are registered to vote by your state's voter registration deadline.

When will we know who has won the election?

  • 1/2 days after the vote.

Donald Trump

  • inflation: end inflation and make America affordable again
  • taxes: tax cuts worth trillions.
  • immigration: the biggest mass deportation of undocumented migrants
  • foreign policy: wants the US to disentangle itself from conflicts elsewhere in the world.
  • climate: expand Arctic drilling and attacked electric cars.
  • marijuana: needless arrests and incarcerations

How does the presidential elction work?

  • All states have a certain number of electoral college, that vote the president.
  • There are a total of 538 and the winner is the candidate that get at least 270.
  • The election take place on the first tuesday befort November 1st.

Kamala harris

  • Inflation: reduce food and housing costs
  • Taxes: raise taxes on big bussinesses
  • Immigration: curled up billions of dollars to stemming the flow north
  • Foreign policy: support Ukraine "for as long as it takes"
  • Climate: funnelled hundreds of dollars to renewable energy and eletric vehicle
  • Marijuana: has called for the decriminalisation of marijuana for recreational use
