Using Quizizz
Quizizz
Given the flexible and accessible nature of an EduProtocol like the Fast and the Curious, it pairs particularly well with a learning platform like Quizizz.
- Choose one online quiz site like Quizizz to use repeatedly, at least for the 9 weeks so students do not have to learn a new quiz game every time they play.
- Stick with 8-12 questions to keep the game moving quickly.
- Allow students to play asynchronously for practice at home.
User Guide
How Does it Work?
Step 1: Decide what content you want students to master and create quiz in Quizizz. Step 2: On the first round, students complete quiz individually without pre-teaching of words or concepts. Step 3: After students complete the first round quiz, teacher gives immediate feedback by reviewing questions and answers through a brief mini-lesson. Students record their score. Step 4: Students immediately complete the same quiz for a second round. Tip: Randomize the questions and the response choices for the second round. Step 5: Repeat rounds throughout the week so students can improve accuracy.
Tips for Success
Tip 1:
Set a class goal and have the scores posted for the class to see.
Tip 2:
Once the protocol has been introduced, the goal is for this activity to take 10-12 min.
Hexagonal Thinking
Hexagonal Thinking is a strategy that challenge students to create and explain connections between vocabulary, ideas, and concepts.

Student Data Tracking Form
Assign a copy for each student in Google Classroom.
Students will use the Student Data Tracking Sheet to monitor their progress. After each assessment, they will record their scores, reflecting on their performance and identifying areas for improvement. As students consistently update their data trackers, they’ll see a visual representation of their growth over time, which fosters self-awareness and goal-setting. This process encourages students to take ownership of their learning, and celebrate their achievements..
The Fast & the Curious Eduprotocol
Repetition-based worksheet homework frustrates teachers and students alike. It often struggles to get results and you never know who’s doing the work. Plus, the feedback to students comes very, very late. Try the Fast and the Curious EduProtocol,a flexible lesson plan that can be used to teach new information to students of any grade or subject. It's designed to be fun and provide students with timely feedback. The protocol is based on the idea that students learn best through repetition
Making a Plan
Students complete a round each day until all students score 100%. If 100% is scored on Wednesday, you are done. Students track their scores. Use included reports with data sorted by student, question, or overview to target feedback/instruction; reteach if needed Can be used in place of flashcards, spelling tests, vocabulary tests. When used as a summative assessment: Students who score 100% the first time earn that as the final score. Teacher records student’s final score on the last (5th) rep. Students complete 4 reps prior to the last rep.
Import Quiz from Spreadsheet
Quizzes vary in length—some are brief, others extensive, and a few are perfectly balanced. If the thought of manually inputting questions for an assessment feels daunting, no worries! Now, you can easily add your questions to a spreadsheet and upload them all at once.
