1 / Description
At the forefront of this cartoon made by Andy Marlette, we can see the two characters: Joe Biden and his vice- president, Kamala Harris.Joe Biden is characterized as really old in this cartoon because of the strong and marked wrinkles. The artist decided to add glasses to the president because it's an object that symbolizes Joe Biden.
2/ CONTEXT
This cartoon was made in mid june 2024. During this period, lots of people crticized Joe Biden for no longer being able to fulfill the responsabilities of president.As a summary, Joe Biden is wrong thinking the trumpers ( Joe Biden's ennemy) wants to get him out, wich is ironical because they are democrats.
3/ IRONY
The irony in this cartoon is that Joe Biden is misinterpreting the crticism. Instead of realizing that the democrats are upset, he thougt they were trumpers.
4/ CONCLUSION
In conclusion the cartoon uses irony and political symbols to mock Joe Biden errors.
