Creating interactive content in Genially

To begin, go to Genially.com to create an account and log in.

Slides with a red frame contain valuable information. Plan to spend more time on those slides.

Preview the presentation

When editing a Genially, you can preview it using the eye at the top right.

*Hopefully you pressed the "reuse" button. If so, click preview to watch videos and experience a slide.

Note These tools at the bottom of the screen.

Click the cloud to force a save if needed; it usually saves automatically.

How to search for a genially template:

How to search for a genially template: Example: Search for "detective"

Hover with mouse and select "view template"

Then click "use this template"

Try inserting text from the command on the left.

Use the tools at the top of the screen to format the text. *tools only appear when text is selected.

Try searching for "dog" and add an image.Or upload an image.

Tip: Once again the tools appear to help you edit images if you have an image selected.

I also use Pixabay to find pictures and Canva to edit pictures.

Resources: icons & Shapes (in <90 seconds!)

In the resources area, you can find icons & shapes similar to the ones below. Try changing the color of an icon! Also try changing a shape's size or dimension.

Background

"Canvas" = slide background."Base" = the wider area behind all the slides. Try changing both. If you don't like it, click "undo" at top left.

Pages

In the pages view, hover on a page to select "duplicate" or "delete."

Switch back to "List" to return to the editing screen.

At the bottom left, select "grid" to rearrange pages or change other settings.
