The Welsh Government, established by the Government of Wales Act 1998, is the devolved administration for Wales.
The Welsh Government comprises the First Minister, Welsh Ministers, and Deputy Ministers, who are accountable to the Senedd (Welsh Parliament).
The government has powers over devolved areas. The Senedd, comprising 60 MS (members of the Senedd) can pass legislation in devolved areas and has some taxation powers, including setting rates for Welsh income tax.
The Welsh Government implements policies and manages public services within its jurisdiction, and the programme for government sets out delivery commitments over five years, to improve the lives of Welsh people.
Parties include representatives from Welsh Labour, Welsh Conservative Party, Plaid Cymru, the Welsh Labour and Co-operative Party and Welsh Liberal Democrats.
