MLTI Maine Winter Classic (Elementary Edition)

Objective:

• Collect Maine Icons as you travel from place to place.
• Ways to play/win:
• TIMED: Set a timer and see which group has the most icons at the end.
• COMPETE: Visit all four "corners" of the state. The first group to get all four Maine Icons wins (Lighthouse, Ear Muffs, Maine Black Bear and Maine Coon Cat).
• COLLABORATE - See how many different

places you can visit!

• This could be in one session

or over multiple sessions!

Welcome to the maine winter classic

You are on a Maine Vacation to see all of the sights! How many places can you visit as you tour our state?

1. Pick a piece (either one for the whole group or several for smaller groups). 2. Put it on any one of the four Maine Icon spaces (Lighthouse, Ear Muffs, Maine Black Bear, or Maine Coon Cat) as your starting place. This does not count as a visit to take the icon. 3. Roll the die in the upper right corner by clicking on it. 4. Click and drag your piece onto the closest spot that matches the color of your roll. NOTE: It is best to put it off to the side of the box to make clicking on your activity easier.5. Click on the box you landed on to open your activity. It will pop up in a window over the game. This is the Activity Selection Page. 6. On the activity selection page, roll the die in the upper right corner to get your specific activity. There are a number of options for each category. NOTE: If the activity you roll isn't working or isn't a good fit for the group, reroll and choose a new one. Don't get stuck somewhere in Mud Season! 7. When finished with that activity, close the window to go back to the map and continue. 8. If you land on a River or Mountain connector, follow it to the new box and do that activity. 9. When you land on or pass a Maine Icon space, drag that Maine Icon to your team's "Collect Maine Icons" board.
