Carrie through litterature and movies
Shower scene in lockers room between the book version and the version of Brian DePalma in 1976
Differences :
- Book much more detailled, movie all of it is shown by the sounds of all girls talking, the camera angles showing the differents details as the water falling on tiles, as the girls getting dressed... - ''It wasn’t until she stepped out that they all saw the blood running down her leg.'' while in the movie Carrie is still in the shower as the blood runs down her leg, and then all will see is the blood because Carrie asks miserably in panick for help. - Carrie isn't standing in the middle of a circle of her bullies, but she cries alone in the shower's corner - We have some flashbacks of her childhood and what she had to go throught, not in the movie, no flashbacks shown we only see what's happening in the present. - The teacher acts way more rude in the book, while trying calming Carrie in the movie pushing away all the girls aand yelling at them.

Carrie through litterature and movies
Shower scene in lockers room between the book version and the version of Brian DePalma in 1976
Similarities :
- We have the same environment, the lockers room with showers etc... the same placement of the characters : Carrie alone in the shower on her own and on the other side the crowd of girls. - The same type of bullying : throwing tampons and clothes at Carrie, going around her all stood up looking and making fun of Carrie that looks lost. - We have the iconic words ''per-iod'' and ''plug it up'' and the girls are harrassing Carrie, they illustrate the seriousness of the scene, it was important to keep it. - The camera play illustrates well what is explained in the book : we got some medium shots of the crowd of girls, some close ups on Carrie's skin when showering, all the details about the sounds in the book are translated by the hubub of all girls talking at the same time about stupid and irrelevant subjects.

Conclusion
- Not the most truth full version. - Seems more dramatic thanks to the actors performances, which could look a bit more confused in the book to imagine. - First adaptation of the book that follows the central theme quite correctly except some extracts that don't appear. - Carrie from 2002 is not the best but the most truthful version of Carrie from 1974.
