Adding a running header in Microsoft Word and Google Docs
For both Microsoft Word and Google Docs:
- Double-click anywhere at the top of the page to edit the header area of the document.
- Click on Insert > Page Numbers.
- Select the page number that is aligned right.
- Put your cursor in front of the page number on the document and type in your last name.
- Click on Insert > Page Numbers.
- Select the page numbers at the top of the page that page numbers on both pages.
- Once the page number is added to the document, highlight the page number and then go to Format > Align & Indent > Right
- Then put your cursor in front of the page number and type in your last name.
