Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then

Students will choose a character from the story and complete the Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then graphic organizer. Afterwords, students will create a summary using the organizer and post their sentence on Padlet. Students can draw pictures to illustrate their summary and upload those to padlet (with help as needed) as well.

Story Timeline

As students read, they will work in pairs to create a timeline of the events that happen in the story. Students can include pictures or write descriptions of the events. They must include the event, where the event took place, and who (characters) was involved in the event. Students can choose to create a digital timeline using Canva or make a timeline on chart paper.

Before reading students will complete a picture walk through where they will pay close attention to the illustrations throughout the book.

As students look at the illustrations they will make predictions as to what they think the stroy will be about. Students should note characters and their characterisitics, setting, actions, etc.
