We have learned about ecosystem services, how important our ecosystems are to our survival, and how humans can impact ecosystems. Scientists often look for solutions to address problems related to human impacts on ecosystems.
Identifying the problem
Edio page 3
Scientists are not the only ones who can help ecosystems! Anyone is able to find solutions to help protect their local ecosystems. A little can go a long way! Many possible solutions help promote conservation and good stewardship of local environments. Today, we will research and learn about solutions that can help ecosystems around where you live!
We can help, too!

How are ecosystems affected by the problem you chose?
Question 4
How have humans contributed to the problem you chose?
Question 3
Edio page 6
You have spent time considering and researching a problem that impacts your local ecosystem and are now ready to develop ideas to address these concerns.
Question 6
Solutions questions
What is 1 possible solution to solve the problem you chose?
Edio page 8
Tomorrow we will...-create a presentation of our chosen solution to our problem -share with the class -evaluate and celebrate each others' presentations!
Today we...-determined areas where humans have impacted your local ecosystems -generated solution ideas to address problems impacting your local ecosystems

Solutions
Everyday activities impact ecosystems. Humans rely on ecosystems for various services, such as food, water, and materials. Finding solutions to address concerns related to human impacts on the environment helps to conserve and protect these areas for future generations. In today's activity, we will share our solutions from Day 1 of the project to address the ecosystem concern you chose (habitat loss, pollution, or invasive species).

Question 1: What problem did you research and design a solution for? Question 2: What is one possible solution to solve the problem you chose? Question 3: Upload or create your poster or record your commercial.
QUESTIONS

Go to your Padlet in Edio!
Great scientists share their solutions with others to evaluate and implement. In the Padlet, share your poster or solution with your classmates. Remember to add your name to all of your posts. Once you've added your solution, comment on your classmates' posts to share similarities or to celebrate their ideas!

Question 2: What was the most important takeaway you learned from this project?

Have a great weekend!
Today we...-shared a solution idea you created to address a concern in your local ecosystem -explored other solution ideas and provided feedback.
DAY 2: COMPLETE!
The sketchpad can be filled out using the writing tool or text tool. To complete this, you should:
Sketchpad Requirements
- Draw a picture to represent your solution
- Write or draw a few tips and details about what your solution is and how it would help others
Before we can find a solution, we first need to choose a problem and understand how it is impacting the ecosystem. Hover over the "info" to learn more about each problem. Then choose one, record it in edio, and click the picture. That will take you to a page all about that problem! Use each resource to learn about the problem, how it affects ecosystems, and what humans can do to help our local environments!
Gathering Info
The poster can be made on paper, in PowerPoint, or in the sketchpad below. Your poster must meet the following criteria:
Poster Requirements
- the solution should relate to your ecosystem problem
- it should provide useful tips and details related to the solution you chose
- the poster should be organized, neat, and easy to read
- try to add 1-3 pictures to your poster to represent your solution
- the poster must be original, you may not take it from a website
The commercial can be uploaded or video recorded in the question below. Your commercial must meet the following criteria:
Commercial Requirements
- the solution should relate to your ecosystem problem
- it should provide useful tips and details related to the solution you chose
- your commercial should be at least 30 seconds
- the commercial audio should be clear and easy to hear
